Yes! I would like to see more modern athletes compete in multiple sports. Sadly, athletes face increasing pressure to specialize, even in youth and varsity sports, as absurd as that is. College and pro teams increasingly demand year-round training for a single sport, which tends to crowd out any possibility of cross-training. Michael Jordan and Russell Wilson offer recent examples of the extreme difficulty of excelling in more than one professional sport, though cases like Wilson and Antonio Gates also show the value of cross-training, as their baseball and/or basketball skills clearly enhance their gridiron prowess.
